Behavioural Support Plans
“A Behaviour Support Plan gives us insight into a person’s behaviour, then strategies to encourage appropriate behaviours and quality of life.
Butter Fish Services is a registered NDIS provider of Behaviour Therapy Services and Behavioural Intervention services that may require the development of a Behaviour Support Plan.
Behaviour Support Plans are developed in order to address the underlying causes of behaviours of concern or ‘challenging behaviours’ whilst protecting the dignity and quality of life of people with disability who require specialist behaviour support.
A Behaviour Support Plan is not just for professionals, but can be used by families as well when a disability such as a traumatic brain injury has led to challenging behaviours.
Our services are available in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and the broader Hunter and Central Coast regions of NSW.
How Butter Fish Services Can Help?
As part of our Behaviour Therapy Services or Behavioural Interventions, our behaviour support practitioners will develop a Behaviour Support Plan in consultation with you, your family, carers, guardian and other relevant people as well as the service provider who will be implementing the plan.
The Behaviour Support Plan gives us insight into a person’s behaviour and outlines effective and practical strategies to encourage appropriate behaviours and quality of life.
A Behaviour Support Plan describes why a person uses challenging behaviour, how the environment must be changed to make this behaviour unnecessary, specific approaches to teaching the person new skills so that they do not have to rely on challenging behaviour to have their needs met, what the objectives of the plan are; and how all people in the person’s life, will contribute to implementing the plan.
