NDIS CHANGES: What do they mean for you?

NDIS CHANGES: What do they mean for you? - NDIS

Last month the National Disability Insurance Scheme Amendment Bill was passed by parliament. This is aimed at getting the NDIS ‘Back on Track’.

When the law comes into effect, the changes will begin to be implemented. The changes were made in consultation with the disability community, and thus will benefit people with a disability, hopefully.

The new rules will be implemented in stages, so that it is an easy and convenient transition for all involved. We are yet to see a date for exactly when this will begin.

The NDIS have stated that the changes will include:

  • How a participant’s eligibility is assessed, and the requirements for eligibility
  • What supports can be funded by the NDIS for people with a disability
  • How a participant’s plan is managed
  • How their funding will be allocated, and how it needs to be spent

Again, no further details have been released by the NDIS on exactly when they will change, and how you as participants can prepare for these changes.
