Behaviour
Support

Our Behaviour Therapy service is enlisted in our personalised plans to help us identify the potentially destructive or unhealthy behaviours you or someone you care for experience and give you techniques, both for in-the-moment and throughout ordinary life, to turn those behaviours into more constructive responses.

This could be helping you and your child through disruptive sleep patterns, talking through the functions of their sleep behaviours and applying specific and relevant strategies to create less or no disruption to their sleep cycles.

It’s all about equipping you with the right tools after giving you a space to speak, be truly heard and gain support with effective strategies and outcomes to resolve challenging behaviours.

Behaviour
Support Plan

When you’re under pressure or responding to difficult situations, emotions or environments, it can be easy to communicate thoughts, feelings and emotions through challenging behaviours. To support a pathway out of that pattern, we create personalised plans that meet your unique needs and help you achieve your goals, big and small.

These plans are tangible, something true and easy to reference throughout your journey with Butter Fish, and beyond. It’s a step by step approach that we walk through with you.

Assessments

Our range of diagnostic assessments can assist with understanding psychological difficulties in children up to 16 years and those across the lifespan.  This includes testing for autism, testing for ADHD, assessment of learning difficulties, cognitive assessments (IQ tests), behavioural assessments and assessment of intellectual disability or delay.

Assessments can formulate a guide to the groundwork for the therapies themselves, these are conducted through face to face (in person) or via virtual appointments. Some tests cannot be delivered virtually, so we will advise the appointment type on your initial enquiry.

The value of assessments is in the results that can be used to guide differing levels and types of intervention, such as behaviour support, psychological or emotional support, learning support, and disability support.

Early Childhood
(ECEI)

An Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) approach is available to all children under seven — from birth until they start school — with a developmental delay or disability. Our ECEI services support children to reduce the impacts of any potential developmental challenge or disability. We aim to develop the skills needed to achieve the best possible outcomes now and throughout their life journey.

Counselling

Counselling is based on building a strong, productive, supportive and trustworthy relationship between you and your counsellor.

Our process involves exploring and resolving personal, interpersonal or intrapsychic (inner conflict) issues. Counselling provides confidential support to you, whatever your age and background, so everything you discuss is private and safe from negativity or neglect.

Recovery
Coach

Recovery Coach services provide you with the right mental health support you need. Our Recovery Coaches will spend time with you to get to know and understand your needs. They’ll help you discover which services and supports you may need and how they can help give you a clear path forward. They’ll also help you navigate the NDIS.

Psychology

We offer confidential and caring psychology services that ensure you feel safe and supported. We guide, and walk beside each client to assist them through their journey. Our psychologists provide counselling and assessments that are entirely dependent on your needs with a strength-based, client centred approach.
